Stage II Hydraulics Again

Hey, been poking away at the ol' Super H here and there, trying to get it into runnable condition. I keep putting off looking into the live hydraulics.

On the lift-all control/reservoir, how many positions should the lever have? I've seen pictures of the lever being in a position that's way farther forward than mine will go. Mine only has two positions, also. When I pull the lever, nothing happens.I would think the pump would whine or the engine would slow down a little, but I get nothing.

I'm thinking it should have three positions: Lift, hold, and lower.

My guess is that there's something wrong with the valve inside the reservoir. How big of a deal is it to tear down? I'm pretty mechanically inclined, and I can generally figure out how things go together.

Have you looked up at the Lift-All from below to see if the pump drive shaft is in place?
If someone had the unit apart in the past, it could be reassembled so the lever is not functional.
Disconnect the operating rod and work the lever by hand. You should be able to feel it "lock" in place when rotated fully back (CCW)to the lift position. It will "snap" slightly when moved forward to the off or lower position.

Dennis - The Liftall lever should have 3 positions - lift, hold and drop. And it should be spring returned to the hold (center) position.

If you have an auxiliary remote 4 way control valve installed, the Liftall lever must be pulled full back and latched in that position in order to send pressure to the 4 way valve.

The lift-all lever to the reservoir has to be pulled back before the other lever will operate a cylinder.
