I just brought home what I think was a deal. I got a Farmall H with 4 row cultivator and an International 330 Utility for a low price. Wht is a 330 worth? Tractors havent ran in about 5 years. What should I do to get them to run? I am in the process of getting manuals for both. The 330 has a alternator on the left side infront of the carb. How many speeds is the 330?

There are 5 controls under the steering wheel on dash. What do they all do. There is a black knob like control to the far left, next is a small toggle swith, then a larger toggle swith, then a greyish twisting knob, and finally to the far right it a push button. I dont see a key switch anywhere. I also noticed that while going throught the gears, I cant get it in 5th at all.

There should be a choke knob,a push button starter button, and a twist headlight knob (3 position OFF DIM BRIGHT ...or good ole "ODB").There originally was a key swtich that was just OFF or ON.That maybe the toggle switch now. There should have been a cigarette lighter socket too (for running lighting accessories).
5th gear is almost useless. Its a road gear or a transport gear.Unless you are driving thousands of feet as fast as possible its not needed. However,it shows that previous owners ground it up trying to engage 5th when its non-synchro and will clash at almost any speed.

If they have sat that long I'd fill each cylinder with tranny fluid and let them set a day or 2. Then I'd do what it took to get them running , the tranny fluid will loosen things up and help with removeing any ruct in the cylinders

A deal? more likely a STEAL! those 330s are quite collectable as they were only built two years. A handy little tractor and you will like it.

330s were made November 1957 thru April 1958.
Around 4200 total.
Rare compared to 300s and 350s,but there seem to be many showing up as of late.

I guess that makes them built less than a year. I should have said "built during two calender years" LOL But anyway i know you are partial to your bigger motor and I won't argue but I like my little 330 and we had a 340 when I was a kid and it was always a favorite too.

I just couldnt imagine a tractor that heavy with a smaller engine. It should be easier on gas and easier to steer (less weight).I know of one 330 around here and its had its engine rebuilt I dont know how many times(I hear of at least twice). This time the oil pump seems to have gave up and the bearings got all ate up.Might have something to do with how it was maintained (or not maintained),but I know that the C169 in my 300 hasnt been apart, doesnt burn oil and has had a ton of use (a combination farm/business owned it from new,2nd owner beat it up in a sand/rock "pit")..so you could say that I'm partial (and thankful!) that the 169 is a solid performer.I keep thinking that if I was able (or even born!) back in the 50s to buy a tractor, and I chose an IH or any other for that matter new,I wouldnt be abusing it and it would still be in good shape today. But of course...it never works out that way,and you are forced to buy what others have rode hard and put away wet.

The 330 is basically a "under 300U-sized engined 350U".Yes,the generator/alternator is over on the left side.Unlike the C169/175 where it was over on the right. The C135 engine is rated rather low compared to the C169/C175 on horsepower. It was a stopgap model until the 340 model came along. It gave IH a low priced Utility model to compete with its retail rivals.
