Hi, I have a 656 Hydro that has a loud whining noise. My Neighber up the road has one almost the same as mine and it seem's to be quieter. Do I have a problem??? Thanks

What farmall doesnt whine, they all seem to have a whine of some varying degree. As long as it isnt extremely loud, does it sound like something is starving for oil? or chattering? I would change filter, check oil and keep an eye one it....Jim

Our gear drive 656 made a really loud whine from the hydraulic system too. Especially when you would use the hydraulics or turn the steering wheel. The power steering was sluggish and lacked some power assist. I changed the filter and it helped a bunch.

By golly,

I think that's the first place to look, especially on a whine type noise, don't you?
