After driving 1100 miles through rain, snow, sleet and mud, I brought this old gal home to Utah from Idaho last night. She is a 1953 Farmall Super C. Most of her days were spent cultivating beans in Idaho.

She has a 'like new' engine, a 2 point fast hitch with a 3 point conversion, a nice muli-functional back blade, a good set of tires, a tight clutch and trans. Her hydraulics seem to work well to. She needs carburetor work, ignition and electrical work, and some cosmetics.

Her last owner was the second owner and he had her for more than 20 years. He was feeling real sorry when he let her go.
I posted a picture in the YT Tractor Photos under skycarp.

Hey all, I am rested up now and looking at the left side of my SC, and after talking to another owner of an SC, I think I am missing a part to my Fast Hitch. It is the leveling link for the hitch. It goes from one of the rockshaft arms on the left side and ties into the hitch on the left side as well. I am thinking it is called the Bellcrank Adjusting Link, part number 517-824-r1. You will see the item I'm talking about in the parts manual as a long hook shaped steel piece. The left most touch control lever moves the shaft on the hydraulic unit it attaches to on the front end and will have to check where it goes on the hitch. Are we correct on this observation? If so, does anyone know where I can get this part?

Ma

You have the correct part no. from your parts manual. I looked at my SC earlier this evening and the back end attaches to the bell crank part no. 517 823 R91 with a pin. The pin on my tractor might not be original as the keeper is a piece of wire. You might send an email to Jamie at JP Tractor Salvage for any missing parts you discover. Their email address is: parts@jptractorsalvage.com
Hope this helps.

Congradulations skycarp. Yours looks a little better than mine.

I just brought home my Super C also. I picked mine up in central Washington only about 150 miles from my place.

She spent all of her life mowing hay. She has a fast hitch with 7' sickle bar mower. The original engine came separately and has half of the teeth missing on the cam gear. I haven't identified what engine is in her now. Other than fixing and replacing her original engine, she is in pretty good mechanical shape. Cosmetics will take a little work.

I posted her picture in the YT Tractor Photos under Chris in WA.

It's a beauty. Whereabouts in Idaho did you find it? Utah is just across the border, just wondering how you put that many miles in to just cross the border

David,

Well, I am in Southern UT, around Kanab, She was in Jerome, ID near Twin Falls. We were on the road at 0400 and back in the barn after midnight. I had a backup driver so we traded off on the driving.

Hi Guy,

Heck I dunno, just lookin' at it, I guess. :>)

The normal axle is what? 'Bout 10" shorter stickin' out there beyond the clamp?

BTW, still tryin' to figure a way to get outta here and come down to your neck of the woods, Howard; might have to get Nebraska Transport involved in the scheme of things. Don't know just yet.

Allan
