I got no response to my brushog inquiry. So, how do I mow my acre and a half of grass hay?

New? Look in your yellow pages. There has to be at least one place in your area that deals in high-end lawn-and-garden equipment, a Tractor Supply, or a farm equipment dealer... If you can't find new ones for sale in your area, you ain't tryin'.

Used? Well, that's a little tougher, and you're gonna have to do some legwork. Check your local classifieds. Check the classifieds and photo ads here. Post a wanted ad in the appropriate place on this site (probably not really effective, but ya never know).

Mowed 5 acres pasture with 1941 A and 5 ft. drawbar pull bush hog for 10 years. Worked fine but 4 foot would have been better as I had to take less than full cut in heavy grass. As for offset PTO just hook bush hog off center directly behind PTO makes cutting aroun trees and along fences easier too.

Most bushhog mowers have at least a 35 hp gearbox rating. And are a little big for an A Heck My 4 footer is enough for my H go with the belly mower much better choice. Or a sickle I guess. MagMan

There is more than just mowing hay. What do you want to do with it after you have mowed it. If you want to bale you need a sickel mower. You can get a pull behind or a drawbar mount. If you dont want it you could use a rotary type. If you want to keep it short then a belly mower would be great/ Your call.

You can use a belly mower or do what I did took a three-point-hitch mower and made a hitch for my A and use that
