I had a real good day Sat. I put rings, bearings & redone head on the sleeping SC and It started right up & sounds good. The problem: The cluch is stuck & I found one of the fingers laying in the the bottom of the tube. Its not bent (the spring is). What are the odds I could put it back on & try to unstick it? Its been sitting probably 2-3 years. Also I have the back of another SC I bought for the fast hitch & lift. If I do have to split it what would I look for to decide which rear end and clutch to put it back with since I don't really know about either one. Thanks for any advice.

You are going tohave to split the tractor time to replace the pilot bearing any way while it is apart. Probably will need to machine the fly wheel as the surface will be rough. Also check the ring gear for bad spots in the teeth as you mite want to take it off and turn around to place the good teeth toward the starter.

I agree with gene b. Your gonna have to split that bad boy and while it is apart you might as well have the fly wheel resurfaced and put a new pressure plate in. As far as which rear end to put on you'll have to use your best judgement unless you want to tear in there and see what's wrong with them. Good luck it's looking good so far.
