Mud,--I had the same problem on my B. LACK OF LUBRICATION. The way I fixed mine was to run a little oil line from the the oil gallery up to the top of the gov housing where I drilled & tapped a hole directly above the gov mecanism so that engine oil would drip on the gov shaft. After I had it all hooked up,I pinched the oil line with a vice grip so that oil would would just DRIP.--- There may be easier ways to do this, like drilling a hole in the top of the housing and oiling it with an oilcan. Up to you,but you will see when you take it apart that that particular area of the the engine is not a well oiled spot. Best to you---Bill

I rebuilt the governor on our B last spring. I replaced the bearings, seals and pins in the weights. Also replaced the spring with a Super C governor spring. Did the same to our Farmall A. Both of the governors work great now. Very snappy governor if it is repaired right! If the holes in the weights are worn too much you may have to replace the weights. Ours were good with just the new pins. All the parts were still available from our Case IH dealer. Also, make sure it is assembled correctly! Get a I&T manual that shows the CORRECT assembly. Our B had parts in the wrong places and missing parts etc. Good Luck.
