I've had this 54 Super A for 30 years and I'm still not sure about the correct transmission oil and hydraulic oil levels.

Also, can anyone recommend a way to remove a siezed spark plug?

Thanks in advance.
Ed

Hi Ed, If you a 1/2 inch air impact wrench I would use it to try and remove that plug. Be sure
the wrench is set to turn counter-clockwise when trying this. Hal

My IH manual recommends the hydraulc level be 1/2
inch below the filler opening. Isn't there a check level plug on the gear boxes? The transmission and differential hold 4.5 quarts and each final drive holds 1.5 quarts. Add 1 quart
for the pto. Hal

Have you tried using a deep socket and ratchet. A 6 point socket would be better so you don't round off the corners of the hex. Applying a light coating of anti-seize to the threads will prevent this. Hal

I've tried the deep socket with a power bar, to the point where I expected the plug to twist off, or pull the threads out of the head.

Just wondered if the chances of success were better with the engine hot or cold, that sort of thing.

I would get the engine hot and try removing the plug. Hal
