I have 7 acres which is not much but I have found a 400 with a loader and 300 without ,the 400 isn't that much money and I don't know what a loader would cost for the 300

Take the one with the loader if it appears to meet your wants/needs. About the time you go looking for one for the 300 everyone will want more then you gave for the tractor. With only 7 acres the fuel consumption differance won't amount to anything.

There's a signifigant difference between the 300 and 400. The 400 is a much larger, heavier, more powerful tractor, meant for pulling larger implements and covering more ground in the same time.

The real question is: What do you want to do with the tractor? That will help determine which one is right for you.

The 300 is mbased onthe H and the 40 on the M. Both will have more power than their predicessors. The 300 willpull a 3 bottom plow in some conditions, and the 400 a 4 bottom. Both have live hydraulics, most have Independent PTO.

The 300 is based on the H and has about 27 Hp at the drawbar, giving it as much power as the M when first introduced in 1939 without the bulk.

The 400 is based on the M and has 45 hp at the drawbar, giving it half again more power the M when first introduced in 1939.

The 400 has more power and weight, the 300 has much better fuel effiency. Both can and often due sport the same options, live hydraulics, live PTO, TA, and so on.
