F544 Hydro conversion from C200 to D239 engine

I have a Farmall 544 Hydro equipped with a C200 gasoline engine. I would like to replace the C200 with a D239 diesel engine. My preference is to aquire another Farmall 544 with a good diesel in it. I'd put that diesel engine into my tractor, and use whatever other parts I need for the conversion, and keep the remainder as a parts tractor. If you have or know of such a tractor for sale, please let me know. It does not need to be a hydro.

If such is not available, I've been told of a couple 574's which apparently also have D239 engines in them. Is this the case? If I get a D239 engine this way, what else will I need for the conversion? I understand the Diesel model F544 requires a different hood, throttle linkage, fuel tank and fuel line, radiator, starter, and air cleaner from the Gasoline F544. Is this true? Are there other items I need for this conversion other than these? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There are tons of differences... Pretty much everything you mentioned. Then there"s the fact that there aren"t too many 544 diesels around. The easiest way for you to do it would be to find a 544 Hydro diesel for parts. Gear drives will have a different flywheel. Stay away from the 574 and the other British utilities, their 239 will have a totally different oil pan, front cover, flywheel, rear plate, starter location, fuel filter set-up, and a oil pump/filter arrangment that puts the oil filter right in the way of the 544 frame rail.
