Getting hood off a 400

helping a neighbor fix his exhaust leak, hood is in 3 sections with air cleaner tube with big cyclone top sticking up thru piece I need to remove

got the exhaust side cowl loose but cannot figure out how to get air cleaner cyclone tube top off without removing huge amount of air cleaner and plumbing

The cyclone cap should come right off. It's just shoved on the air cleaner inlet tube like the stock "mushroom cap."

sure enuf

that rascal was glued on tight by a lot of years but finally wiggled a bit, climbed up top and finally got it off

exhaust manifold is a lot easier to work on now
