HELP,ON MY FARMALL C,WHEN I GET IT STARTED IT RUNS FOR A COUPLE SECONDS AND THEN SHUTS OFF LIKE IT LACKS FUEL,SO I CLEANED THE CARB AND NOTHING,REBUILT THE CARB, NOTHING.REPLACED FUEL LINE AND FUEL BOWL SAME DAMN THING. COULD THIS BE THE GOVERNOR. PLEASE HELP ME , ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY.

Can you get it to continue to run by closing the choke? Then it's a fuel restriction problem somewhere. If this tractor has a distributor ignition vs. mag ignition, have you check the ballast resistor? If the ballast resistor is bad and the tractor has been set up with a start bypass, then the tractor will start and run until you release the starter switch. Once you release the starter switch, there's no power to the plugs and the engine dies. Just some thoughts.

Joe; there should also be a screen in the inlet elbow of your carb. You might check that too. I have seen these cause the problem you describe. Many folks do not know about this screen. I know I didn't until someone here told me about checking it. Mine was full of crud.

It's not the gov.. check your gas flow by removing the drain plug on the carb bowl and just let it run for a good full minute. It sounds like you have a flow problem. Do you have an inline filter? Is the vent on your gas cap plugged and creating a vacuum?
