Get yourself a black curved pipe and a set of earmuffs. Muffler on our 9 rusted out below the hood, so rather than getting a new muffler right away, I threw on an old pipe I had for the winter, just for blowing snow. What an ungodly noise. Got a new muffler two weeks ago, would never do tillage work with just a pipe.

Meant to say if after reading the other posts you still want to put a straight pipe on, I'd go with a curved one.

Old gray matter is slippin a cog or two today I guess :<(

If after reading the other posts, I vote for Curved. That way you won't need a rain cap.

i will vouch for that, with out a turbo you'll blow your ears off! i have a 766 and for around the yard it was fine but after 4 rounds with the 18' disc in the field i was back in the yard burning my hands trying to get that pipe off and muffler back on! just my 2 cents.

Unless you have a turbo on it you better leave the muffler on.I like a slight turn out on chrome pipe.

Neither one. Black factory muffler.

Just my view,

Allan
