Can anybody give me some insight on how to set the fingers on a pressure plate?
I'm working on a W-9 gas tractor.

If the pressure plate is out, get a manuel and set by the book. I didn't when I replaced the clutch disc on my SMTA and had to split the tractor again. Setting worked fine with old disc but not with new one.

Kevv71, there are usually jam nuts on the bolts that set the fingers, loosen them off and turn the bolt to make your adjustment, usually turning in. The important thing is that all fingers are adjusted to the same degree about3/16th or thereabouts, as long as they are all the same. I haven't done a W9 but the H's and M are about the same as the W9 in configuration and again all fingers need to be the same as close as you can get them. When you are satisfied with the adjustment, tighten the jam nuts back up. I am assuming there is a belly pan on the 9 to work through. Good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
