I have a 460 with a bad TA and the clutch housing is wallowed out where the front TA bearing goes. There is a TA bypass shaft assembly for sale that came out of a 350 farmall its suppose to bolt right in and end all my troubles? But what? or how ?do I make? or keep ?the live power working? What make the live power pto work? From what I see The by pass kit is only a solid splined shaft that goes in the clutch and the back is just a 4 bolt casting with a trans in put shaft in it. That bolts to the trans case. How dose this work???

If you get the right one the shaft will go through the hollow PTO drive gear shaft and into clutch plate.PTO remains same.I would ask how splines are on bypass shaft as most are worn pretty bad.I would try to find another housing. If
not junked should be laying around cheap somewhere.
