I am wondering if 400 Farmall"s were available without torque amplifier? Any nelp would be appreciated.

the t/a was standard equipment but you could delete it and save $100 off of the list price. i have a 450 from louisiana that has no t/a and a non-continuous pto like an m would have.

Yes in Missippi Delta and Tennesse Valley there were probaly as many than did not have TA as did have TA. I have 400 without TA under cotton picker.

I am restoring a 400 with a TA, single front wheel, no PTO and has the gearbox and driveshaft for the cotton picker. It is a 55 model

Justin: TA was an option in those days, however very few 300 and 400 came without it. I have seen a couple of 300 without TA but I've never seen a 400 without TA. I expect there were a few.
