This year seems like everybody HAS to get out into the field all at the same time and we (the mechanics) have to get their last minute fixes fixed, emergency brake downs fixed, planters and drills set up and ready to go, and their all the first on the list to get it done. I think the customers know that all they have to do is make a big fuss the the service manager and he will send sombody out pronto. Do they do this cause they think their #1 or just to get it done so their not forgotten about. Either my eyes just opened up or this year seems to be worse for anybody having patients and manors.
Other than all that I had a 1066 this week brake the input shaft of the TA. Twisted it right off behind the clutch disc. None of use at the shop have ever seen this one before so its kinda neat to see something new like that.

I understand that some of these "urban farmers" or "people that have to much time to stare at their lawn" can be a real pain as well. If the lawn gets scalped or a drip of oil or grease on the garage floor they would sooner shoot you than anything else cause its all your fault! I've heard of some of these stories and I'm glad that not everybody is this way. Some people are actually polite under the worst circumstances. Their the ones that make it seem all worth while.

It's neat to see something new until you own the 1066!
By the way, I've been humping all winter to get equipment ready, and I'm still not ready. Also it's tough to work in the shed in January.
I do know what you mean about the customers though. I'm in a customer service business too. Like someone I know said, "I love this country, It's just the people in it that I don't like" LOL!

Ya, I think I know what your saying about owning the tractor. The owner wasn't as impressed as I was about the break. I like that saying that you mentioned, I'll have to remember that one. Maybe put it in my useless but witty sayings file. The one saying I like to use around work is "You don't have to be crazy to work here but it sure helps".

Years back i had that on a 766 and it was the first one that i had ever seen , it droped kicked the custermer while he was on the road and had to drag my one tractor out to him to load his and then he used mine to finish what he had started .And yes all farmers wait till the last min. to get work done on there tractors , From end of harvest till the first warm day of spring that tractor that they knew need work sat in the shed then it is OH I GOTTA GET THAT TRACTOR FIXED. because i want to get to the field tomarrow and it only needs a overhaul rear end work and a new T/A but they can do that in and hour.
