Sleeve for an H pulley

Does anyone know if there is a speedy-sleeve or redi-sleeve (sp?) available to fit the pulley on an H? The front seal has cut a groove in mine and I'd like to put a sleeve on it. If anyone knows the correct brand or better yet, part number I need, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

I don't recall exactly how the shaft is "stepped" for the belt pulley. However, you may have a problem installing a speedi sleeve, because The sleeve must come all the way from the end of the shaft to the sealing surface near the flange. At the least, you will likely have to rig something to press the sleeve on, as the tool that comes with the speedi sleeve will be too short to work. I suggest taking the shaft to a Motion Industries bearing house and ask them it it can be made to work. They will measure your shaft and get the correct sleeve for you. I also agree with the post about the cost. They aren't cheap, but having lathe work done is a lot more expensive than a speedi sleeve. In my case on a Super C steering gear, the lathe shop wanted over $100 to fix it. The sleeve was $30.

They are expensive, but if you have a local bearing place, they can accurately measure the shaft and sell you one that fits perfectly.

Speedi Sleeves are very expensive. Whenever I have this situation, which is all over the place on these old tractors, I go to the Chicago Rawhide online parts finder and find the oil seal with the proper bore dimension and the next smallest shaft size and then turn the O.D. of the part to match it. If you don't have access to a lathe this is not for you but thought I'd mention it. Either way, you will have a leak if you don't do this or the sleeve.

Typical speedi-sleeves sleeves are $30.00 to $50.00. Good luck getting lathe work done for less than that!!!

Try an auto parts store that sells Chicago Rawhide
seals. If you can not find a store give C/R a call at 1-800-882-0008 for a store location near you.

Their seals are sold in stores that sell only bearings too. I would measure the shaft that you need the speedi-sleeve for or take it with you. Hal
