VERY nice to see some OEM info on the Behlen P.S. unit finally surface in the vintage ads section. Was wondering what is the best way to filter the system, since the manual says that grit is the unit"s worst enemy? Thought about using a fuel filter on return line, but would like to use an inline hyd. filter, but what"s the best? Put it on the pressure or return side? Much Obliged Fellas!

Use a WIX # 51953 in-line automatic transmission filter in the return line. It even has a magnet to trap metal particles.

Most filters will not tolerate the pressures encountered on the high pressure side, although there are sources for such filters. Very pricey, though!

Thanks, Bob, but I can"t get that number to fly on Wix"s website. Sure 51953 is the correct number?
