Well, my wife is correct, I do have OCD!

I was looking through the classifieds and there is a 560 LP for sale for $2,600. Called the guy up and it is a wfe, good tires, TA works, 3 point conversion on the fast hitch, live pto and hydraulics, powersteering, fresh paint no leaks.

This is about twice the tractor that my M is and I could probably upgrade from the M for $750 or maybe even less. (I'm sure I paid too much for my M at $2,000 with aftermarket 3 pt hitch but it runs on gas and they seem to sell easier).

I would have to work out a deal on the LP but that might be worth it for the bigger better tractor. The M really does everything I need but it did take 20 hours to shred 42 acres this spring and the live hydraulics would really be nice when I am grading my 1/2 mile driveway.

The 560 will use more gas than the M but LP is about 75% of the cost of unleaded here.

Should I just quit looking and stick with the M?

Thanks, Nathan

I inherited My M a few years back, broke it alot, put tires on, so i spent some there, then bought a couple plows, a few weeks ago i bought a nice little combine, and now i might buy a JD D. So ya, i have it too. Next on the list is a SMTA, gonna have to feed pigs a little longer to afford one!

Nathan I must have it too 'cause I haven't even really started on my 400 (actually its my son's that is until I find him the right J.D. for him) and I'm already looking for another one. David

Gee, no disrespect meant to Cowman, but in my opinion Nathan, if you have a shot at moving up to live power and power steering, for $700....I don't know why you would hesitate. Assuming you have a buyer for your M....if you did overpay for the M you might be seeing a bigger difference between the 2. I would want to know the history behind both tractors, but it sounds like a good deal to me. They want $3000 or more for old laid down 560's around this area.

If ya have fun and don't hurt anybody, I don't see the harm in it.

Calm down Nathan, You've got a darn nice M and I woudn't be pissing it away. Learn to be happy with what you have first and everything else will be gravy.

You gotta buy the 560 and keep the M, otherwise you aren't even close to OCD! If you trade you barely have Farmallitis, you're just upgrading and were's the fun in being normal. My nickel Dick Davis.

PS don't listen to NE cowman - he's lying. He has never been satisfied with the tractors he has. He has way more than the rest of us and he wants to limit you to the M so he can buy the 560LP. But don't tell him I let you know.

The problem is that this isn't even close to my main hobby. My main hobby is saltwater reef aquariums. I have a 415 gallon display tank in my house and over 1,500 gallons of tanks in a greenhouse that I built specifically for them as well. I could have bought close to 10 560 LP tractors for the price of what I have in my silly fish tanks!

Here's a link to my homepage with my aquarium hobby stuff.
