I don't think you should run that tractor with low oil pressure. I would drop the oil pan and
look at those main bearings. Use some plasti-gage
to determine wear and what clearances you have now. Cam bearings that are worn willcause low oil pressure too. Engine probably needs to be rebuilt. You do not want to ruin the crankshaft
or worse like a thrown rod. Hal

new guage is $35 ... if that isnt the problem you have for the rebuild.

try the breather tube filter.. if that is plugged the pressure will go down too.

Dave,

It's worse than ya think. Bearings are the very last thing to wear out in an engine. Just imagine what the rest of 'er is like.

I think ya oughta think about a major on this ol' sweetie.

Allan

Allen if I do I know tjat everybody will give me heck 'cause I'll build the engine as a 450. I'm hoping she make it through the summer and hopefully I'll be able to start on her this winter. when I do start on her I want go through front to back, top to bottom. Thanks David

Could be it needs mains and cam bearings. What wt oil are you using? I like 30wt if you're working that tractor. Hal

What is the oil weight? Maybe should use something a little heavier? Could be a bad gauge?
