A little help here please. I am trying to change our 806 diesel from 40" row spacing to 36" and I have moved the front wheels in and I have no idea how to move the back wheels in. It appears that there is one bolt holding in a bracket that looks like it would keep the wheel on the shaft without it moving, I just don"t know.

I have sprayed everything with PB Blaster and I sure could use some advise on what to do now, I just need each wheel to come in 4" now!!! I know this is going to be heavy because of the rear wheel weights and the tires are loaded as well, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, I am really needing to get this done this week.

Completed the project last night! Once I found out how the wedge locks work and got the bolts broke lose it was not that hard. If you count breaking two 1/2" breaker bars before getting smart enough to run get a 7/8" socket on a 3/4" drive!

The combination of ideas worked since I really did not want to beat-up my recently restored paint, a little planning on where to tap and driving her around locking up brakes seemed to break them loose from the axle. It was not as bad a job as I thought, actually the front was probably more work than the back once I got going. I used alot of PB Blaster as well!

Once again, thanks for the input, the knowledge and information from this site at times is first-class.

Definetly sounds like someone put Wedge-Lock wheels on it, much better than the original style. If you would have bought a new tractor with Wedge-Locks, the pusher bolts would have come with it, so they really aren't a special tool. I bet your local Case-IH might even loan you one. You should check a bigger 56, 66, or 86 series' owner's manual to familiarize yourself with how the Wedge-Locks work.

Int,

Sounds like you have those wedge locks. I've never owned a tractor with 'em, but you need the special tool to release 'em, I'm told. Also told there is no other way around it.

I'm not sure about an 806, but the 856 I used to own had the wedge lock wheels, which required a special tool to loosen the locks.
