That is a great looking SMTA! Great job on it! I don't blame you for being proud of it, you've did a great job. BTW, that tractor would look great at some of our FRAPA shows as well as working it out at Chatfield. Larry

Wow! You should have told us that we would need rubber bands for our socks. This picture knocked my socks off! Nice job.

Hope this helps me with my job. Restoring a Farmall M that belonged to my grandfather.

Ernie Bob, Thats a mighty fine looking tractor, and I commend you on a job well done. My Missus tells me that if I drooled over her half as much as I do an old Farmall, there"s no telling how much luckier I"d get. Nothing is prettier than letter series Farmalls, and a nice SMTA such as yours is as good as it gets.

Hi Ernie,
That SMTA does look good! I should have taken the time to "tour your farm" when I was out there. I finally got that 3-point hitch installed on my H. Works well. The only thing I'm wondering about is the hyd fittings on the cylinder seem like they might get pinched by the arm as it comes up. Did you ever have any trouble with that?
Now that your SMTA is done you can come work on my old iron to make it nice like yours!

Here's a before photo of my SMTA in Feb 2002. I added a wide front, power steering, remote hydraulics, fast hitch, rebuilt the TA, other miscelaneous repairs and a paint job.

Ernie: Sharp looking tractor. In 2005 it still takes some doing to outshine the styling of a letter series Farmall. Has always been my favourite from that point of view, and you've added the necessary attachments to make it quite functional.

The 56 series were the only tractors to come close on styling, notice I say close, not exceed. Then look at what 56 series had going for it as an evolution from the letter series tractors. Just think about 656, nothing more than an MTA with a comfortable platform, added power of 6 cylinders and a draft controled 3 point, but not quite as sharpe on styling. Now there might be an interesting project, put an M grill and hood on a 656. Would be just as real as HTA.
