I am restoring an old "H" with 6volt positive ground to 12volt neg ground using the original generator that I had converted to 12volts. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a converted generator? Is the wiring diagram the same if I was using an altenator?

Actually Bob, I need the wiring diagram for all the wiring, this tractor hasn't any. I've seen flow charts or diagrams posted on this site b4, but cannot fine any with 12 volt generator.

Wiring will be the same as for original 6 volt generator/regulator system.

However for the ammeter to read correctly you’ll need to swap the wires at the ammeter terminals (otherwise the ammeter will read backward on negative ground).

Also if the 12 volt regulator has only 3 terminals (a 4th terminal labeled “L” is not present) simply take the wire that had been connected to old regulator L and instead connect it to the “BAT” terminal on the new regulator.
