I am new to this site and Farmall tractors. This is a great site. I bought a 1939 Farmall H and it runs great. There was two things wrong. The temp gauge doesnt work and the 5" shaft in the belly pump is gone. My question is: Can I still get this and is it easy to install. I want to put a 3pt hitch on it. I am not sure what this shaft does. Can anyone help. Thanks in advance.

Every now and then a 3pt hitch will be listed here on this site. there is also a company who makes them too.

Yes its the pump Drive or disconect. Rather easy to install. You would have to get one at a junk yard rather pricy though. I beleve I have an extra.I will check. Its a round piece of stanless I think with a groove machined at both ends you slide it up in and then there are 2 sleeves that are on it that you slide out over the tangs and put a large cotter key in and that locks it in place.
