I need to add oil to my belly pump on my H. Is the fill tube the pipe that sticks up just behind the starter under the gas tank? And if so how do you know when your at the proper level? I picked up six manuals at a sale the other day but none of them where for an H. They where 300,300 U,C and newer IH stuff. All different than what I need on my H.

Paul, the unit holds 6 quarts per my Owner's Manual. You can drain it all out and change the oil or collect it, measure it and add what is needed to make the 6 quarts. Make a new dip stick to measure the 6 quart level and go from there. The manual says use 30 wt. non-detergent oil although I believe from comments on this forum some folks use Hy-Tran. I just have the non-detergent oil in mine as I think it is less prone to leak. Just my thoughts. Hal

Yes, that's the pipe to fill it. If it hasn't been "messed with", it will have a dipstick under the cap. Sometimes if someone has changed the cap and associated plumbing, they've taken the dipstick out. If that's the case, you'll have to maybe use a wire or something to get to the resevoir. I've accidentally filled mine until it ran out the top. It won't hurt it, but it makes a mess, and it will continue to "puke" when you use your hydraulics until it gets to the right level.
