Looking at a picture of the battery box in my parts manual. For the life of me, I can't figure out how this all goes together.

My tractor did not have these parts so I am starting from scratch. Questions: 1. What do the battery support lock bolts mount to? 2. Now how about the anchor strip--what does it mount to?
The plate has three 3/8" holes--two on the left side facing forward and one on the other side. Oh if I could move Allan,CNKS, El Toro to Houston for a week

Charles,

Help me too. I was under the impression that you were working on the axillary battery on a 686?

Allan

Im not sure exactly what youre refering to by the terms youre using, but, assuming youre talking Ms here,I have two different setups. My 40 M has four blots screwed into the area where the battery goes, the heads are like 3/4 inch heads, holes and slots are made int othe battery box and it slides in there and a bolt goes into through the box in to the top of the tranny cover,is this right I dont know,I say that because my 41s have the ame 4 bolts, but are a little further out of the casting AND a strip that bolts to the top with two bolts, thne the battery box slides in and out on the mentioned four bolts and when its in place,a bolt goes through a peiuce on the outside of the box into the third hole on the strip.Seems as thoguh there was another setup, but I have never seen those.

Think I may have this figured out thanks to your help and comments. The box is held in place by the bolts and not the strip. I will take a look at it this evening and see if this works. Thank you.

Also forgot to mention Nebraska Cowman and Expro as possible prospects for moving to Texas to help me.
