When my Dad and I got our Farmall A in 1980 the oil cap was painted silver. I have restored the tractor and the motor has been rebuilt. I am trying to get close to the original

I remember the oil fill cap was silver like the wheels when we got it.

My question is what was NOT originally red.
Here are my guesses - can anyone help

distributor cap and wires

magnito black and bare metal

water cap Chrome?

gas cap Chrome?

Oil fill cap Painted silver?

Cloth wire harness

Light Chrome? Red?

Rims galvanized. Steering wheel rim not painted. Don't remember what the factory did, but the mag and wires look better not painted, oil cap and air cleaner caps were red. Harness was red, if I replace it I leave it black and don't bother painting it. I have seen the water and gas caps both ways. To me the water cap looks better in its original silver or galvanized (whatever)color, it was not chrome. Everything else red.

On a Farmall A, everything would have been red except the tires, rims (silver) distributor cap and wires, magneto, steering wheel & knob on the gearshift. Not sure about the wiring harness and kill switch.

Gas, oil & water fill caps were red.

actually acording to FARMALL LETTER SERIES the book the gearshift knob was origanally painted red but the red paint would quickly wear off onto your hands

the FARMALL LETTER SERIES book is very good at decribing the factory condition on all the farmall letter series like A BC H M w-4 w-6 w-9 and all the rest and the FARMALL NUMBER SERIES is good at the number series like 100 200 300 400 and the rest
