super hydraulic reservoir question?

Seems my post from yesterday disappeared... Odd

Anyway, I have a Stage II Super H with the hydraulic reservoir under the gas tank. Anybody with a Stage II Super H, a Stage II Super M, or a Super MTA should be able to give me a clue here.

I'm trying to figure out which pipe is which on the back of the reservoir. They're capped off, but not labeled, and my Super MTA manual doesn't show how to plumb it up.

Which one is the pressure? Which one is the return? Are both pressure? Is one a delayed lift like the belly pump?

I want to hook up two-way hydraulics.

I do not know for certain, but maybe if you will look at this picture, it will help? Sorry, this is all I have.

Earl, it's more than I had before. Thanks! Now I can see how the correct valve should go. From extrapolating where the lines run, I would say the top line out of the liftall is the pressure, and the bottom just might be a return.

I've got detail pictures of a nicely restored Stage II that I took last fall. Problem is, his tractor is just like mine: The reservoir lines are capped off.

I did what Your trying to do probably 20 yrs ago. The top pressure port on the left side of the back of the res. is the pressure side. The return side from the 2-way conversion valve is I think 1" NPT located just to the right of the center lower back of the res. I used a Cross Converta-valve avail. at TSC, Farm & Fleet, Northern Tools & Equip. etc. for around $100 with enough fittings to attach. Like others have said the Lift-All lever has to be pulled back & latched to get the oil to the pressure side of Your remote valve. If You use the lower pressure outlet it won't work correctly because that was the delayed drop outlet for use on the rear gangs of cultivators. It'll dead-head Your engine driven pump because the oil won't be able to return to the res. When I saw Your post yesterday I didn't know if You had a Stage I or Stg. II. It makes a BIG difference.

Dennis – Since no one else has responded I’ll throw in my 2 cents…

The high pressure line from the live pump goes to a tee that feeds both the remote 4 way inlet and the reservoir (Liftall) tank inlet. The 4 way return (“tank” or “drain” port) tees into the return line between the reservoir and the live pump.

I cannot recall exactly where the reservoir ports are located. The drain however is the larger port low on the right side of the reservoir. And I believe the inlet the smaller port above and ahead of the drain. The ports on the rear of the reservoir are intended for Liftall (one way) hydraulics and must be plugged.

If you can wait until the weekend I’ll take a digital photo of the plumbing on one of our Stage II hydraulic systems (both SH and SM) and post it.

Note: To operate the 4 way hydraulics you must first pull the Liftall lever (on the right side of the reservoir) fully back then latch it into place. This blocks the inlet to the reservoir so pressure/ flow is diverted to the 4 way valve.

I saw your post yesterday, it probably didn't disappear, just got pushed to page 2. I wish I could give you an answer, I had a super M years ago with the live pump, and I added a control that gave me two way hydraulics, but I don't remember the specifics of it now, and I don't have a manual. Hopefully someone else can give you the straight answers.
