856 and Koyker K5

I am looking at buying a used Koyker K5 loader to put on my 856. The front end should handle this load shouldn"t it? With a 1500# big bale?? Also should I run any bracing from the frame rails where I put the quick attach, or will the tractor handle the load fine?

Thanks

Rob

Rob,

I have a Koyker on a 584. You should call them and speak with engineering, they are good and will help you with brackets and all for that loader and your tractor. If you need the phone number, I will look for it. Good luck, nice loaders, never had problems.

I have a Koyker 500 on my 856, don't know if that's the same one you are talking about, but it works fine and handles round bales fine also.
Only thing I need is some wider tires on the front, will probably look into getting some old airplane tires--24 ply or so.

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed to see. The loader I am looking at is one of the older yellow ones. I think I will call Korker just for the heck of it though.

Well I talked with an engineer at Koyker, and was told no problem!! Looks like it comes with me. I do think I need the larger tires on the front of my tractor though, currently have 16" pickup tires...airplane tires sound expensive though.
