I stopped at Leaman Tractor & Parts (near Lancaster Pa) this afternoon looking for a seat part for my 460. They didn't have what I was looking for but they did have an unusual selection of used tractors for sale.

IH 1468 First real one I've ever seen. Looks like it had been a cab tractor and the cab was removed. No fenders or PTO.

IH 664 Odd little utility tractor. Looked it up when I got home and only a few were made.

IH 624 Apparently never made by IH, but there it was sitting on the lot. The gentleman I spoke with at the parts counter hadn't found any information on it at all.

Ford 1124 Looked like some kind of log sledding tractor.

Plus other assorted IH tractors - 1066, 656, 656 hydro, 966, 1456, 826, 460, and various letter tractors.

The 624 was a Nuess build with a 206 inch motor, a 4X2 and R trans or their Agriomatic-a combination TA and a shuttle with a neutral as well, all hydraulic. These were introduced in Canada in August 1967. I remember going with my Dad to look at them. At the dealers there was a 656 gas utility gear drive, a 1966 F656 gas white nose, a 756 diesel and two 624s. Now being young and not knowing dollars, profit, payments, etc. I naturally wanted Dad to go for the 756, or at least a 656. Trading a SW6, he was leary of the fuel consumption on a 263. The differential lock was a selling point on the 624. My Dad delt for the 624 Agriomatic after seeing 64 PTO hp with the wire still on the pump. That tractor did over 7000 hours with only a clutch and normal repairs. Excellent value for the money. I later purchased a 656d used. The 624 would give it a good run, beating the 656 in economy.
