Have recently purchased a used International 484, have read some of the ifo on this discussion panel and despite this I`m still not sure where to find the serial number plate to establish the year of manufacture. Info on which numbers refer to what year would be helpful too. Incidently I live in New Zealand where International machinery was always popular. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Greg Barron.

Hi Greg,
I have a 484 (1979 with the gears in a lightening shape line) and the serial number plate is on the left hand side underneath the fuel pump and just in front of the fuel filter.

Love my tractor although I've just gone big and bought a Case 4230 that needs a lot of work doing to it. Bought the 4230 really for the challenge because if I'm honest with myself the 484 does everything I need at this very moment in time.

Have a 684 and the serial # is located on front frame on the right side (like below the fan area). Serial # on my late (1977) 574 is in that location. By serial #, you can identify the year. Also, if gears 1,2,3,4 are in straight line, early 484. If H pattern, 80's model. The later ones with H pattern shift also had red sides -sheet metal around radiator.

Thanks Wolfmantractor for your help - looked in the place you indicated and can`t find anything there - this tractor has a front end loader and the number may be covered by the loader sub frame. However I did locate an aluminium plate on the left side bell housing where it meets the motor - has the number - 279469 BRX D - perhaps this is the seial number. Can anyone help me to understand the meaning of it.

Greg I live in land from Whakatane, and have a 674.
If you need parts manawatu tractor dismantlers can get you any part for your tractor in under 24 hours and Ruakura tractor wreckers have a repair manuel for the 674/ 484 for about $30.00

Most parts for 454 574 464 584 484 and 674 are interchangeable
