Tractor vet is correct, the disk brakes just need occasional maintenance, not many people want to do that.

Do not think that he broke and axel , Take some toold along and pull the drums off and jack up one side at a time and see what moves . It may be a bearing going out and has thing locked up heck it my be just a brake locked . And you can get the brakes to work well if ya just stop and figure out why they are not working like they should If i ever get a digial camra i'll have to show what i do to fix even the worse case of bad braking .

had the left wheel on my SM lock up one night, would go about 2/3 of the way around and stop again, pulled brakes and nothing, drug it in with the 300 and pulled the tranny cover, their was a tooth from an old bull gear stuck on the left bull gear. Neither was missing a tooth so it musta been in there 20 years or so waiting for that rainy night to get caught somewhere? and usually a good knock on face of the brake drum with a hammer will knock brakes loose at least here.
