Battery Covers,,,will they fit?

I would like to get the battery covers for my old rusty 14 before I paint it (some day). My brother said he didn't think they would fit with these "extra capacity" batteries. I don't have another tractor to compare it with. Can you tell from the picture if they would fit? It looks pretty tight to me.
Thanks,
Paul

it sure looks like a close fit. are those 4EH batteries? thats what my 966 had on it when i bought it, 21 years ago. iirc, it had the covers but needed to use redibolt to lengthen the holddown bolts. when i replaced the batteries, i used the regular size (3EH), so the covers fit better. i still used pieces of inner tube over the rubber cable end covers.

Hey Sarge,

That does look tight. Did you call Steel Wheel Ranch ? They are priced right but if they don't fit, forget about it. Th etin just above the battery in the picture I do not have and Scotty said he could make them. I might ask you for some measurments when that time comes. You got duals on that ? How is everything else and Happy Easter.

IF you need I will take those two pieces of tin off and take some good photos and measurments.

Yes, she"s got a set of wore-down duels on her. She doesn"t look like much, but I really feel like one of the big boys with all that horse power ;)

E-mail me if you need the tin-work specs.

Paul

Paul, hi.

I will when time is right. The post that the other guy said about the batteries, are your 4EH or 3EH. Mine are 3EH. I am going to look at the room on mine, might be the 3EH is the correctsize, at least that what I have seen in the battery catalogs and I think some guys on here also said so. I am missing the handles for either side and found them for $25.00 a piece, that is what I want first. It seems the folks before me have been grabbing the wheel and pulling up and it has put to much load on it. I will let you know.

John
