Finally got to work on the hydraulics on my Ute.If you all remember the controls were plumbed backwards (up/down,bucket up/dump)and the single acting lift cylinders were set to DUAL on the Hydra Touch and the return plumbed into the tank drain.I removed the return line, blocked the hose and tank drain and set the valve to SINGLE.Went nowhere. Not up or down.Set to DUAL it went up but not down.Switched lines to the "correct" valves (inner is up/down,outer is bucket up/dump)and set the inner to SINGLE.Guess what...it works! Something wrong with the SINGLE setting on the outer valve I guess.
Now I have removed the lift cylinders and cannot unscrew the ends.I want to re seal the cylinders.Any special tips here? What happens once the ends are unscrewed? Will something come loose and I wont be able to put them back together? How hard is it to replace once new o rings are installed?

I have just found a u34b in the trees on a farm. I need to go though the cylinders and replace the seals (at least that is the responsible thing to do). Do any of you guys know where to get the seals? Also, I need to retro fit a bucket. The width is not a problem, it is the center pivot. I need to know where to attach the pivot to the bucket. Any help would help. (pictures would be very helpful also.) Thanks

Paul, if you're cylinders are like mine (pictured), they were pretty danged tight. I unhooked them at the top end, then glommed onto the caps with a large pipe wrench (I used a 48 inch pipe wrench) and got them to bust loose. It took a pretty good yank even with the large wrench. I suppose I really didn't need to unhook them at the top end to break them loose, but you will to get the cap all the way off. Inside you will find the ram is a hollow tube capped at the top end, all the seals are in the cap that you just busted loose. Only thing on that ram is a steel retaining ring at the bottom end that rides on the inside diameter of the tube.

BTW, that ain't me in the picture, that's my friend Sean, I asked him to stand in front of the busted up part of the loader. Poor Sean has to drive a Kubota...
