What do you mean froze up? Are you sure that the starter is not binding on the ring gear? Will it turn over with the crank after removing the s Do you mean froze up or seized up?

Chuck,

Sure the tractor froze, nothing else like a electrical. Was if kept outside, no cap and is it still really cold up your way ? I would do like John said but be sure you exhausted the other options before you get to deep.

Chuch, Happy Easter Morning to ya! Pull the plugs, shoot in the cylinders-- ATF, oil , PB Blaster or anything of the like. Let it set a day or so, then jack up one rear wheel, put it in gear and rocket the tire back and forth. If it set up just over the winter then it should break free very quickly.
Hope this helps. Later,
John A.
