Hey folks. Are there as many old iron tractors and implements being scraped out as junk, as there are here in N. Texas? I met a fellow a couple of days ago that told me he had brought 15 tractors, and numerous old iron implement across the scales in the last 3 weeks. Such as: 3 Farmall B's, 2 Super C's, a F-20 (it sounded like) on metal wheels, a 400LP!!, and a lot of green tractors also! I rescued/bought a Farmall M WFE w/stuck motor, and a Farmall 300 RUNNING (all I did was air up the tires, hooked a battery up to it, and it started right up) from him. Drove it 10 miles to my property! This is really a darn shame!

I agree there is alotout there. Went scouting for beaver areas to trap and found what I think is an AC 3 bttm plow on all steel- gound lift. Is shaded in a woods but in a dry area. Perfect PAINT-EVERYTHING TURNS. LOOKS BETTER THAN MOST NEW PLOWS ON LOTS. i FOUND A 3 BTTM jOHN DEERE PLOW on spoke wheels with what looks like original tires yet. Again this thing is in new shape. A "Farmhand" spreader that is either made with an alluminum or stainless steel tub. 2 beater. I have never seen one of these any where before. A horse drawn potato picker that we pulled a little way with the 4 wheeler and the darn thing works . 2- old drills on steel a 6' and a 7'. An old Jd spring tooth 6' on rubber, 2 JD "H" spreaders in ok shape and about a dozen ols small 2 gang disc's. I am going to contact the land ownwers to inquire bout the implements and if they want the beaver gone as the are starting to destoy the woods on these property's Owners are all in nursing homes so they have no idea of the beavers. Was really one interesting day.

Dr. you sound kind'a cynical. But I understand. All I am saying, is that with what is going on, and at this rate, a LOT of old tractors and old implements will be gone. And all I will hear or read about is "HEY! where were we. Why did we not try to rescue some, so that furure collectors and users have some available to enjoy like we do know". Lets have this conversation in 3-5 years. Then see what is left. Just my $.02+ worth!

Im not doubting the situation in your case Im saying alot of times thr EPA or state is after guys that own junkyards and maybe they are really closing or maybe just trying to get you moving on a deal.Either way scrap metal is a bad option.

dr., these are folks that are buying them one maybe two at a time from private folks, right out of fields, tree lines, auctions and barns. I am sure, to a greater extent, that there are others doing it on a bigger scale. I was just trying to bring up the fact, that when these old pieces of history are gone, they are gone for ever. Again, my $.02.

Where in Tx are you? I'm always trying to save old iron from scrap. Not much around San Antonio. I think Texas has scattered Ag areas, its not all over.

Hey there. I am up here in Fannin County, about 40 miles from Durant, Ok. Let me know what you may be looking for, and I will try to pick and choose what I try to buy. I really don't want to get into the tractor parts business. But I would resell, after moving exspences, whole tractors. Email me if you like, I un-blocked my email. Mark

Hey there old. I wish I could buy more, but I really don't want to become a tractor parts dealer. But I will try to pick and choose what I can, and sell whole tractors to those who feel like I do, that this is a real shame. These old pieces of iron are part of our American history!
