Hydraulic Cylinder Seals for a Front Loader

I have a 49 Farmall H with what I was told is an original Farmall front loader. The loader originally had a trip bucket (long since converted to hydraulic) and the arms used to raise and lower the bucket mount to brackets on the rear axle.

The hydraulic cylinders that raise and lower the bucket leak badly. The seals on them are labeled "Hi-Lo Equipment Company, Columbus, Nebraska". I have not been able to locate that company or a replacement seal. Does anyone have a suggestion?

The seal is basically a cup seal which is held to the piton by a rubber ring on the back side that snaps over a flange on the end of the piston.

If the cylinders are bypassing the pistons (leaking down) then one of two things arepossible. If your loader is equipped with single acting cyls (probable) then eventually the oil will start comming out of the piston rod seal at the "top" end of the cyl. These seals are designed to limit dirt intrusion into the mechanism. if they are two way the oil will stay inside but the loader will drop. The guilty party either way will be the piston seals (often leather) that trap hyd fluid under them and are similar to the leathers on a bicycle pump. If the leathers are worn (collapsed/stiff/or torn, I have had success finding them at water well repair supply businesses. If they are showing signs of abraision or scuffing, the finish on the cylinders may be pitted or scored (pitted comes from rust and non use). This must be repaired first or new leathers will be a waste. some situations are not repairable unless new barrel material is purchased , polished, and installed. If the tube is good new aluminum pistons with three oring grooves can be made (contact a local machine shop, or tech school! L O persistance.
