From the popping sound comming from the final drive on my super A, I think the bearing/bearings are bad, ordered rear axle inner/outer& differential shaft bearings as well as seals. I have a cub lowboy with a fast hitch & plan on constructing a jig assembly to lift & ease out the final drive. Is this a straight forward job? any tips or suggestions before starting.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Have you checked the bolts that fasten the rim to the hub. If they are loose, it will cause a popping sound.

I suggest you try tightening the lug bolts before you take it apart. It might save you a lot of work.
