I bought a Super C a few years ago, it came with an 8 volt battery. Spins the engine quicker than any 6 volt, starts instantly in any weather, no alterations needed. Go to your nearest tractor supply store and grab an 8 volt battery, no more problems. I'm considering getting one for my Ford 8N.

Big,clean batt. cables, a clean starter with a little oil on the bushings and a good battery will spin my Super C good when it's below 0. I had to replace the Farm & Fleet battery last summer. It was installed in 1993. I told the guy at F & Fleet that I wanted one just like it and he said he better fill out the warranty paper anyway just in case I did'nt have the same luck with the new one. Jim

First get some new 1ga cables and a new 625amp battery and go thru the starter and 6v will crank it over just fine. Will be a lot cheaper than all the stuff you have to do to go to 12v. All of my Bs and As start in cold weather and they have the same engines as your C.

DJHMO - I did a 12v conversion on a '50 C a while back. If you still have questions after checking out the archive articles, feel free to drop me a line. I've uncovered my email address.
