I have "53 cub that I just replaced the clutch and throw-out baring in, I have made all adjustments according to the book. I sometimes get a little grind when putting the tractor in gear-could it be a fluid problem or is this just "normal"?

I use four cubs commercially, and one of them always grinds, it is adjusted and lubricated properly, just keeps on turning or "drifting" just enough to grind. I used to leave the pully on sometimes and this would help. This year I put heavier oil in the transmssion and Lucas additive, I hope this helps but I havn"t used it enough to know if it is fixed.

It takes a bit for the gears to stop turning after the clutch is diengauged since there is no clutch brake , on car and pick ups there are the blocking rings and syncronizers that stop the grinding of gears on big truck with non scycro trans . there is a clutch brake that stopes the gears .
