An old machanic told me that a gas engine needs 10 lbs. of oil pressure for every 1000RPMS. I don't know if this is true or not, but it makes sense.

Gauge on my 300U reads 40 psi at slow idle, about 60 psi at normal operating speeds.

Hard to tell exact poundage when the IH gauge only has a color-graduated scale and no numbers.
If the gauge was a max 80lbs unit,I would figure 3/4 would be 60lbs,and 1/2 would be 40lbs.

Iester,

Most gassers run 60lbs; diesels usually up around 80lbs.

Oh, heck yeah, (But it is probably the other way around: 60 cold and 40 hot)?

Turn 'er on and turn 'er out to work.
