I used two National 472287 seals, one behind the other. The threads are right hand

I just replaced the same seal on saturday and here is the best way I found. Put the tractor in 5th gear, take a long pry bar or crow bar and put in across the notches in the coupling and pull like heck. It is right hand thread and mine was really tight. Other than that changing the lower seal is rather straight foward. Good Luck.

BIG pipe wrench. Put tranny in gear, set brakes, block wheels. Put your back against a rear tire, and your foot on the wrench, and PUSH. Sometimes they come loose quite easily, so don't push too hard at first. Darn it!, now I can't remember if it is left handed or right, but I think it is right handed.
