Hello all I was wondering if any one knew the correct size of tires I need on the rear of this machine, It has a hydro transmission and is a strong running tractor. very comfortable to ride and operate, I am thinking of keeping it in case my 454 goes south and maybe putting the loader on here, I feel it would make an awesome loader tractor, as it does not have 3pt, or hydraulics on the rear, but has a great hydraulice system with remotes. The problem is it has 24" tires, I believe they are 14.9 x 24. what size are stock on here, with these tires man will it creep along slowly, thanks pat

On the International 544 the standard tire size was 6.50 x 16 front and 14.9 x 28 rear

I've got a 544 just like yours, but gear drive. It's got 14.9 x 28 inch rubber. What it don't got is a usable carb. Any chance of you posting a pic of the carb, or maybe the number on your carb so I can get the right one for mine?

pat: Most IH utilities in that horsepower range had 28" high tires. Not quite sure whether 13.6x28 or 14.9x28. It would give you better rear end clearence. The other factor here is what IH recomended for a Hydro. Utilities and Hydros are something I don't have a lot of experience with. However the only Utility I've ever seen with 28" tires was a 240. (much smaller tractor)

I helped a guy restore a 544 a few years ago and I thought that they had 28" rears not sure. Also it had a loader on it, nice tractor with a loader. not to big or small. looked nice with that IH creme color on the loader against the red of the tractor. Andrew
