My Super C is pumping the hydraulic oil back in the crankcase. Ran for couple hours yesterday and pumped probably 2 quarts into crankcase. I drained out of top petcock. I vaguely remember a post about how to fix this. Do I need a new gasket between the hydraulic pump and block. And something about a "Speedy Sleeve" on the shaft. Can anyone help me?? By the way, I put new bendix in starter, new cables, and filed the ring gear and now she really lights!! No grinding or hanging up at all!! Thanks, Cmore

If it's leaking that much, don't run it. Depending on which pump you have, it has either an o-ring or a regular seal. It is likely that the shaft has a groove, meaning that it might still leak after installing a new seal. Thus the Speedy- or Redi-sleeve. If the pump has a seal, installation of the sleeve is simple. If it has an o-ring, you have to enlarge the hole the shaft goes through to allow room for the sleeve-preferably by a machine shop. I assume you have a parts manual--Order the appropriate kit for your pump. There is more than one, and you will need to know which pump you have before you order. When I rebuilt mine about 3 years ago, CIH still sold the kits, if not you will have to get the separate parts. Mainly that includes the gasket you mentioned and two other o-rings that fit where the lines attach to the pump, along with some other miscellaneous parts.
