TWL remove all but 1 wire and bush the button and see if the gage moves about half way. Do all 6 this way 3 at a time should move the gage all the way. That gives you a good idea, to be sure the only way is to remove them and do the test to see it the end gets hot and to see if the end is not partly burnt off because a burnt off end can stil move the gage in the first test. I know they can be hard to get out but that is the way it is.

all you have to do is unhook the spaded wire from one glow plwg at a time using your test lite make sure its grounded and touch the probe end of your test lite to the spade end on the glow plug , if the lite lites up your glow plug is good. do this for all six.

Mr Gatewood,

I agree with your procedure, but not the hook up; make sure the test light is hooked to battery voltage, not ground.

if the guage goes all the way over they are all working. if not, use the test procedure reccomended.

too many do not leave the glow plugs lit long enough to heat up the chamber. the 606 manual says hold 60 seconds before hitting starter, if above freezing and then hold till smoke clears. adjust longer for below freezing.
