scotty: Happy St Pats day to all and especially the fine Irish decendant that is your better half.

When I think about New England and St Pats day, I am reminded of a little story once relayed to me by a vendor at the Boston Produce terminal. He said the sale of cabbage and rutabaga go up about 400% across New England on St Pats day week. The only weeks to exceed that are Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Almost makes you want to drive a green tractor...

Nah.

But it's a bad day for the Allis-Chalmers guys.

Hey gascolator,

How about some Green Beer??!!

I heard St. Patrick started over 300 churches in Ireland...Not even sure if he was Catholic.

Erin Go Bragh!!

St Patrick (or Padraig, if you're Irish) was
Catholic. This was before the Reformation and
all Christians were Catholic, pretty much. We're talking 461 AD, here.

BUT Paddy wasn't IRISH! No, he was from Scotland,
captured by Irish raiders and taken back as a slave. Managed to do pretty well for himself.

In return for enslaving Patrick, the Irish gave the Scottish the bagpipe. Only the Scots haven't
seen the joke of it yet.
