Can someone explain to me how the a/clnr restricton gauge on my brothers 826 Hydro works? It has the optional high flow air cleaner with this guage that has wires to it from a sending unit mounted in the duct. The book says that with the engine off it should be red which it is but never moves when the tractor is started. Where does the power come from to go to the sending unit and should there be 12V to it when engine is running? The ones I'm familiar with were vacuum. Thanks.

Fred,

Never owned an 826, but they should all be pretty much the same.

The sender in the air duct is still a vacumn switch; it works kinda like an on/off fuel sender.

Wiring is so: From chassis ground to the sender, from the sender to the meter. Opposite terminal on the meter is hot ignition fed.

Maybe someone can come in a give you the circuit on/off info.

I can't remember if closed switch=okay air filter or if it is open switch=okay filter.

Allan
