The serial number is 12973. Those other numbers are meaningless to you and me.

That's right! In fact, it is kind of a code.

Hi Bill,

It is a 1972 model. You can tell by the amount of dust that has gathered on the steps of that white factory cab. :>)

Naw, just kiddin'. The serial # is there in the "Serial Numbers" page, but it is kind of buried in the heap.

I think I found it on the "International and Farmall" page.

I was kinda thinking 72. Thanks Alllen. Tried to bring the old girl home Sunday morning but at 18* it wouldn't start. We did get the windmill down and moved though. Ran to the farm today' she fired right up. In frustration I hired the local IH dealler to run and get it when he gets the chance. I want it here to start working on. I don't know when I'll get 4 hours all in a row to drive it home again. tough to find time going into summer and the busy season. I'll lose Sunday mornings soon too.

That's probably a pretty smart move.

48 miles, if it is on asphalt, would act like a butcher knife on those rear tires.

Best not be saying anything about "smart" I only get 1 good idea every three years or so. My mind works somewhat like Brigadoon.
