I have a 59 560 diesel, I am getting ready to rebuild. It is my understanding that the 660 has the same engine, it is just turned up to 2400 RPM from the 1800 on the 560, can I turn mine up to 24, once I am satisfied with the way the engine is running?

Yes but you will have to back it down on the throttel for PTO work to keep it at the PTO rpm.

Thanks, I knew I would have to keep the rpm"s at 1800 for rated 540 pto, is the change on the pump to up the RPM easy?

Sorry for the delay in getting back, computer at home is down.

Leave the speed alone, otherwise your PTO speed at full throttle will be way too fast. If you want more power, you just need more fuel at rated speed. It's kind of difficult to do on that Roosa-Master. It's a good idea to have the pump gone through by a pump shop when you overhaul the engine anyway, just have them turn it up 10%.
